The sand between my toes, the waves crashing on the shore,

oh it’s true, it’s true… I miss the beach.

On the Idler with my bros, we’ll stop by the liquor store,

grab a deuce deuce, a pint of pirate rum and head out the door.

I was the easy life. It was life without strife. It was nice for a while.

But it was just the beginning of my guitar and I making a living.

Paying the bills by playing guitar and singing.

I’ll always have a special place in my heart for the place where got our start,

around a bonfire on the shores of Lake Michigan.

You can count on it we’ll be back again…

Clear blue sky, fresh cool breeze.

I’m chillin on the forth of July, under the shade of a willow tree.

Strumming on my six string. It’s just before dusk.

I had a great day, no regrets, it was cake.

Let me tell you about it while we watch the sun set on the lake…

Woke up at about noon, rolled out of bed. I was feeling like the living dead.

My systems needs some electrolytes, but I left my damn car at the bar last night,

so I grab my one-hitter some shades and my skateboard, proceeded outside.

To my surprise mother nature, has blessed us with another perfect afternoon.

I can’t believe July’s even better than June…

But I gotta get my car before I get a ticket.

I gotta go pretty far on my board and so I’ll kick it

into gear and steer into the direction of town, but the beach is on the way down.

Ah fuck it, I’ll just hop in for a minute. Admit it, you’d do the same.

Don’t be lame, can’t complain when the water’s nearly eighty.

I saw a lady looking out a boat. I think it’s coming a float.

It was some good friends, don’t you know that saw me in the water.

Can you believe this guy, he lent his boat to is daughter.

So I jumped in and we went out about a mile

and I packed a bowl and we were out there for a while

but I had to go. I said sorry that’s my sty Lee, Josh and I,

we got a show tonight…

And as we made our way through the forest,

dodging rays of light like spears from the sun.

A thousand shades of green is all that I could see

as we continued walking up towards the top.

And as we broke away from the trees at the top of the dunes

I can’t believe what I see. Is it really true…

Glistening like an endless sea, Lake Michigan,

we’re back again…
